CATAONIA
supra Ciliciam regio, confinis Cappadociae, ut Corn. Nepos in Datame, c. 4. describit. Incolae Cataones dicuntur Stephano. Vide Plin. l. 6. c. 2. At Veteres Cataoniam a Cappadocia separabant, καὶ εν διαριθμήσει τῶ ἐθνῶν μετα την` Καππαδοκίαν ἐτίθεσαν την` Καταοῃίαν, εἶτα τὸν Εὐφράτην καὶ τὰ πέραν ἔθνη, ὥςτε καὶ την` Μελιτηνην` ὑπὸ τῇ Καταονία τάττειν, Strabo, l. 11.
